Coffee from Rugembe Hill in Mutambu, Burundi, Migoti washing station owned by Pontien Ntunzwenimana, was all but abandoned due to the 12 year civil war which lasted from 1993-2005. The coffee plants were destroyed or severly neglected during this time and coffee farmers lost everything trying to survive. In 2016, Pontien was able to build a state-of-the-art coffee washing station, and the local community began to rebuild the coffee farms. With a new economy, comes new hope for the small holder farms of Rugembe Hill.
